If you'd like more information about the various committees, please scroll down.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b><a name="committees" id="committees"><font size="+1">HMD Metro Council Committees</font></a></b></font></p> <p><font size="+2">The HMD Committees are open to all students and young adults who would like to be more involved in planning HMD programs. Committee members need not be members of the Metro Council.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>Social Events</b>: Plan and implement monthly events for students and young adults.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>Sports</b>: Organize sporting events and athletic activities.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>Social Action</b>: Coordinate projects to help others throughout the metro Detroit area.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)</b>: Support Israel through projects, educational and cultural programs, and conferences.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>United Jewish Appeal</b>: Raise money for the UJA Campaign (Allied Jewish Campaign) and sponsor educational programs on campus and in the community.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>Jewish Awareness</b>: Develop opportunities to educate on Jewish topics. These may include speakers, Shabbat and holiday activities, and many others.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>Outreach/Engagement</b>: Promote and publicize HMD and inform Jewish young adults and students about HMD. Serve as the welcome committee at events.</font></p> <p><font size="+2"><b>Young Adult Connection</b>: Communicate with other young adult organizations to inform them about HMD events and coordinate programming with them.</font></p> <p><font size="+2">If you are interested in getting involved in any of HMD's committees, please call Sharon Wise at the HMD office (313) 577-3459, e-mail us at , or note which committee(s) you are interested in on the <a href="mailinglist.html">mailing list card</a>.
