Student Committees

EMU Hillel of HMD is made up of 5 student committees which are overseen by the Student Vaad. The committees represent 5 distinct areas of Jewish student interest: Engagement, Religious and Cultural/Israel, Tikkun Olam, Social, and Community Relations.

Engagement
This committee encourages new participation and involvement in Hillel by developing and implementing engagement strategies and programs.

Religious and Cultural/Israel
This committee brings religious-related and cultural-related activities to campus. It advocates Jewish learning and educates the campus on a variety of subjects related to being Jewish. It is also involved in issues related to Israel.

Tikkun Olam
The Tikkun Olam committee creates opportunities for Jewish students to give of themselves to help repair the world.

Social
This committee creates and implements exciting social programs for EMU Jewish students. This committee has come up with hundreds of ideas for programs. Check out the calendar to see what they have planned!

Community Relations
The Community Relations committee provides an organized Jewish voice on campus at EMU and throughout the community. The committee is involved with much of the political activity on campus. It also works to strengthen connections between Jews and other ethnic, racial and religious groups on campus.
