S'mores and More

S'MORE, (sa-more)noun; A gooey cookie sandwich consisting of a toasted marshmallow (Kosher of course), placed between two graham crackers along with a piece of Hershey's chocolate. To be eaten by the warmth of the campfire.
MORE, (m-ore) adverb; HMD's hayride at Rushlow's Arabian Farms- *hayride* *campfire food* and *fun* all by a roaring campfire of course!!!

Take I-275 South to the Sibly Road exit (exit 13) turn left off the exit onto Sibly. Take Sibly to Middlebelt and turn right on Middlebelt. Stay on Middlebelt until you get to Bredow, you will see the big farm on the left. The address is 29242 Bredow. If you get lost please call (734) 782-1171 for help.


You're Offically A Grown Up at the Jewish Book Fair

Hillel of Metro Detroit will be co-sponsoring author Judith Viorst at the 48th annual Jewish Book Fair to be held at the D.Dan and Betty Kahn Building West Bloomfield JCC. She will be highlighting her current book You're Officially a Grown Up.


Kirstalnacht Commemoration at Oakland University

The Last Days, Academy Award winning film from The Spielberg Shoah Foundation, tells the story of the Jews of Hungary, whose lives were forever changed when Germans invaded during the last days of World War II. Five survivors, all of who are now Americans, who were children during the invasion, tell the story. The film follows them back to their hometowns, as they recount pleasant childhood memories, deportation to camps, narrow escapes from execution, liberation, and their journeys to America.

Holocaust Memorial Center Tour

As a follow up to the film, The Last Days viewed at Oakland University on November 10,1999, we will be touring the Holocaust Memorial Center, and will have the opportunity to hear Holocaust survivors speak about their experience. RSVP by November 12

Get WILD for Chanukah - "Wild Lights" at the Detroit Zoo

Bundle up, because we're going to the zoo! Enjoy the festive lights and you can even walk with the animals and talk to the animals too! Bring a donation of (item to be decided, and fund as well) to show your support during the holiday season.
We'll get wild and crazy when we eat latkes and celebrate the third night of Chanukah at the Detroit Zoo. We'll light the menorah and see the lights go out on the Zoo way....
Meet at the Jimmy Prentis Morris Building Oak Park JCC (located on 10 Mile Road just East of Greenfield) in Assembly Hall for our Chanukah celebration and we will drive together to the zoo to enjoy the night.
